For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to Serve
MARK 10:45
We often remind ourselves of Jesus' words that it truly is better to give than to receive– recognizing that service is a gift not only to others, it is also a gift to ourself.
Serving Teams & Service Opportunities
Care Ministry
Care Ministry is a team of caring individuals who aid those in need within the Gloria Dei Community. They transport people to church, appointments and shopping for example. They will at times visit those homebound and/or hospitalized to keep them in touch and offer companionship.
The Lord’s Pantry
The Lord’s Pantry is Our Mission to feed the hungry and needy in our community. Clients are referred to us by nurses, teachers, ministers etc, and the Second Harvest Food Bank's Food Connection Department. We handle regular and emergency requests as well as those of the homeless.
Serving an average of 7,700 Individuals Per Month we are Always in Need of Volunteers
Most volunteers work one day a week between 9:00 am– 2:30 pm.
Early Learning Center
The Early Learning Center is an early education program for children ages 2yr-9 months through 5+.
Donate Supplies to the Classroom Take a look at our:
Order from Amazon and have your donation delivered directly to Gloria Dei ELC. All donations are greatly appreciated and well used.
Parent Recommendations and Referrals Share the Love and Spread the Joy. Our best referrals come from the families of our students
Donate your time and gifts to Our Classroom and/or Fundraising Events
Fundraising Events always plenty of room for more hands to publicize, set up, tear down, attend to organizing food and many other needs. We also love visitors (parents, grandparents, church members) to read, sing, engage the children in puzzle building, painting, clay modeling; the possibilities are endless.
Some are holiday themed, others are opportunities to gather with family and friends for good fun, food and fellowship. At times we join with the Lord’s Pantry to fund work for both our ministries on campus. Funding from these events has helped the ELC with tuition assistance, campus improvements, and new curriculum purchases.

Fellowship Opportunities
Coffee Hour is a favorite Sunday fellowship time to catch up and visit with friends and Welcome new comers. Coffee is always available, however, individuals provide the cookies, coffeecake, donuts, etc. Signing up to host a Sunday is a great way to Serve the Church Community. You can always buddy up with a friend and share the JOY.
The Sign Up List is next to the Coffee Center
Brighten Up the Sanctuary Another way you can offer Service to the Church Community is to bring flowers to our Sunday Service. You’re welcome to take them home after the service, or offer them to someone you think might appreciate a little floral joy to brighten their day.

Facilities Assistance As our campus has grown, and activities increase, our facilities caretakers are always grateful for extra hands to assist in clean up after an event, help with minor repairs, or just in keeping the grounds clean and enjoyable. There is a lot of activity during the week from our community who have their food needs met at the Lord’s Pantry, and the many families that value the Early Learning Center for the care and development of their ‘little treasures’.
Volunteer F A Qs
How do I join a Service Team and/or Volunteer? There are many ways to volunteer here at Gloria Dei. Click on one of the buttons above to connect with a service team leader to join the team when you're available.
Do I need a background check? All of our children and youth ministry volunteers have cleared a background check. The service team leader will ask you to fill out a simple form that grants us permission to perform the background. However, if you are volunteering with a service team that doesn’t involve or include children, there's no need for a background check.
Do I receive any compensation for serving? Absolutely! The eternal rewards are endless. As a church we truly believe it is better to give than to receive. Volunteers do not receive financial compensation but do receive personal, relational, and spiritual rewards that are priceless.
